When I look at a potential place to live, I look at the WHOLE picture. And that includes ease of traveling around the area and my daily commute. Sure, Staten Island might have nicer looking houses, lower crime, and better schools than the rest of the city, but that's only PART of the picture. You can get all those things, PLUS easier commutes and better roads in most of central New Jersey. Sure, the property taxes in NJ might be higher, but everything else in Staten Island is more expensive. |
