Staten Island's population density doesn't really support the expense. Maybe if they piggyback it on a new water tunnel or a freight tunnel...Any connection to the rest of the NYC subway system is unlikely to ever be built; I'd expect the HBLR extended across a new Bayonne Bridge before a study is even conducted for a tunnel. |
