It was suggested by a native that if I have enuff time to ride only one, the Gold Line should be my first choice.If I was doing a Southern California trip, I'd actually camp in San Diego, explore their system, and then take a day trip via Amtrak to LA to ride the Gold Line and maybe the Red Line. Metrolink isn't interesting to me, and I've been on the BBD coaches on Caltrain. The Blue and Green Lines are in areas that are a bit out of my range for my personal safety*, and I'm not a bus foamer so the Orange Line isn't of interest. Maybe I'll wait for Expo to open up to consider riding around Southern California since I'm still itching to ride other systems.** *I am 5'7 and 135 lbs. For what it's worth, I'm an easy target for criminals, so I try to avoid unsafe areas on foot... **e.g. I'd kill to see some European systems like Cologne Stadtbahn, but otherwise, Portland and Seattle have priority for light rail networks. Hell, even Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Chicago are ahead on the list... |
