The first time I stayed in New Orleans, a while back, I had a hotel (Raddison) WAAAYYYY down Canal St near I10, and while you could walk to the French Quarter and Downtown, it was sort of a hike, so the hotel had a shuttle bus that would leave every 1/2 hour or so, and stop at a few places around town (Convention Center, Riverwalk, French Market, etc, etc). But anyway, it was an older retired Black gentleman that was the shuttle bus guy, and he would just talk from the minute you walked into the bus, to when you got off, and talk about historical spots, history, current stuff in the city, etc, etc.I learned so much stuff from him! |
