Back in the day, we coulda taken the trains from Allentown right on down the line. I think some of those tracks still exist

Some, but not enough and inactive. Ever see the nascent "Greenway" in Bethlehem . . . ? Also, last time I passed by Hellertown and Coopersburg, I took note of the severed grade crossings. That RR used to have trains running from Washington DC to Boston, too.
