"Hylan's way to prevent the IRT from extending their Flushing Line past Times Square."While the layout as recently revealed in the tunneling for the 7 extension seems to support this, keep in mind that nothing likely would have prevented a 7 extension from going underneath the lower level of 8 Av/42 St entirely. That would have been more difficult, but certainly not impossible. |
