That would be correct. I have a video called "Streamlining Chicago" which has some shots of the BMT Bluebird being tested on the Sea Beach Line and also entering Dekalb Ave. There were also publicity drawings and postcards showing a car identical to the BMT Bluebird operating in the State Street Subway. I would venture to say that the closest cars to the BMT Bluebird are the CRT/CTA articulated units. By the way is there any information as to why CRT and its successor the CTA used streetcar style blinker doors rather than sliding doors that were in use on conventional rapid transit cars, including the Bluebird, up to that time?
