There were 10 R-17s with A/C (I don't recall their numbers) which also had hard fiberglass seats in the same red color as the conventional leatherette seats but which were scooped out like R-62 seats. The A/C didn't work well on those cars either and it was removed and replace by fans from the Trane Co. which were similar to but slightly different from the conventional axiflow fans on the other cars. |
