The so called creaking is probably part of the normal give that is needed in order to prevent actual breakage of the component parts of the railcar as a whole. it is the same paranoia on the part of the NYCTS transit managers that prevented the application of PCC rapid transit items to NYCTS equipment while Boston and Chicago embraced them fully. I recall riding BMT Multis that also creaked on the curves entering the Willy B. |
