When I worked the IND extra list, just after sfter spending a two year unrequested stint on the busses, I worked it both out of Howard Beach and 57/6. I think it was probably late 1978 or early 1979. For me, going to work was a pleasure anyway but this work was the cherry on the cake. I probably got to work it a couple of dozen times and as far as I was concerned it wasn't enough. Tooting the horn and blowing by the stations was great. A few times I got the extra board at Howard Beach. When it was snowing I was ordered to take the spare JFK back and forth to Liberty Junction to keep the switches clear. What fun! I wish I could do it all over again.Bob |
