Xerox has bought ads that say "you cannot 'xerox' a document, but you can copy it on a Xerox Brand copying machine"Xerox" is the brand name and I can fully understand their trademark as I can understand (but not necessarily agree with) the MTA trademark of its "MTA New York City Transit" Logo. However trademarking the route bullets is like Xerox trademarking the word "Print" on its copy machines or the symbol for the on/off switch. |
