The parking lot is accessible for free from the AirTrain station at Howard Beach. You pay $5 ONLY if you walk through the fare control passage that leads to the Howard Beach - JFK Airport subway station. In that case, you pay $7.25, including your subway fare. There is NO CHARGE to leave the AirTrain station via ground level to the long-term parking lot. Wait a minute, I just had an interesting thought. I, as an NYCT employee, under no circumstances am charged money to access our bus and subway network. I ride for free. Tell me then, if I were to ride the AirTrain to Howard Beach, how I can get into the subway for free while only playing the $5 AirTrain fare? |
