When I worked the 7 line years ago, there was construction taking place in Corona Yard, and all trains were laying up on the mainline. As a result, all trains were told to lay up with the compressors off, or "cut out". I was told people in Woodside complained about the noise.To this day, I believe NYCT does the same thing with the trains that L/U on the Brighton Line. Why? Consideration for the neighbors. Trains make noise, so the TA did what they had to minimize the inconvenience. So why is everyone here so upset that the "yuppies" in the new LIC condos are complaining? |
