The *supervision* of the car cleaners is 100% at fault here.

I have watched the car cleaners in action at several terminals and it is the same deal. FILTHY FILTHY FILTHY mops and water. There are 10 cars on a train, and so each terminal needs a MINIMUM of FIVE hot running water stations that will keep the mop water fresh and the mops clean.

A MOP CLEANING MACHINE, one for every two cars. And a minimum of FOUR mops per station, so one is being cleaned while the other is in use.

As for trash, the cleaner has to get that stuff out before the mopperperson can get in to do the floors. It is the same person (usually, yes?) So if the turnaround is too quick all they can do is get the litter out.

BLESSED WOULD THEY BE if they had a car cleaning machine, with hot water scrubbers and an industrial vacuumsnapper that could suck up whole chicken lunches in on gobble.

FIVE machines for each train. Ah... but the problem is the poles that go to the floor. Standee poles should come down from the ceiling but should end about belt level, so that cleaning machines and cords could pass under them.

THE LION thinks of everything, the MTA does not.
