I never heard of an engineer after such an incident being allowed to continue in service with the same train, be it uneventful or like this case eventful. With the investigations, questioning from law enforcement, company officials, piss tests and such, not to mention possible mental trauma with the engineer, I can not see how he was allowed to continue on after this first hit. |
