The "TRX" really doesn't go anywhere, and it's crosstown ridership would be very light. Except for Brooklyn College, what destination along it's route would generate any real ridership? A nice railfan dream, but not a viable line. The RPA comes out every so often with these massive transit plans that they know will never be built. Back in the 1970s when I was attending Brooklyn College there were plans to extend the Canarsie Line down to Bedford Avenue, nothing came of that either. MTA expansion plans, 1971:  |
