Oh thanks to Ken's link - now I recall this: the great crescent route.The problems are an alignment that goes through a lot of basically minimally productive land uses. Additionally, there is resistance to transfers across lines, even to reduce travel time, probably because deviation between actual and scheduled departure and arrival times is significant in too many cases. Provision for bringing the MNCR New Haven Line into the proposed NJT Midtown terminal, expanded of course, or into an expanded NYP, probably would be a better use of funding. Anyway, there is a lot on the list with higher priority and greater efficiency using the same infrastructure. |
