Looks like 180-190 miles or so, so nothing outlandish there if speeds can be kept up. I know next to nothing about ridership patterns out there, so I can't comment any further except to say that it's nice of course to have another potential chapter in the rail renaissance book. And it's about 115 miles from Green Bay to Milwaukee. Plenty of people already commute the 90 or so miles from Milwaukee to Chicago on the Hiawatha; this northern extenstion would be a boon for commuters from Green Bay and Oshkosh to Milwaukee and relieve congestion on US 41 and I-43. |
