Only rode on them once back then, on a Fred from 34th to 42nd and then only because my sister, who is definitely not a subway buff, liked them and wanted to ride in one.My most memorable slant ride was on an Alice up CPW n/b on Easter Subday in 1978. That train RIPPED past each of those local stops; we had to be doing 45-50 mph. They were a worthy successor to the immortal R-10s. |
