A yard in Huntington would be even better as it provides additional storage space for trains sort of like the yard in Freeport.



Dude, and that is the LIRR's dilema. WHERE are you putting this yard "in Huntington". The desire for a yard was the LIRR's main reason for further electrification. Demand exists, but the YARD was an integral part of the whole plan.
