That is a false notion .....that Metra trains need to get out of the way of freight trains. From what I understand, freight operations are presently limited in the two rush hours. Faster accelerating commuter trains would not shorten those rush hours to any consequence, so therefore the huge expenditure for electrification would need other goals.David Harrison |
