Nothing like the smell of asbestos in the morning. I saw a commercial van with smoke issuing from the rear drums while filling up at a gas station on southbound 1-9 a couple of years back when I started picking out of NWP. When I pointed it out to the driver, he laughed and told me not to worry he was only going to Secaucus. Shortly after I filled up my motorcycle to continue to Harrison Rt 3 via 21S, I spotted him backing away from the van on the shoulder of West 3 after dumping his second extinguisher to no avail. At least after I tooted at him he was nice enough not to salute me with only one finger. I could see the black smoke rising from the full tank he blew up halfway from Clifton |
