I will agree with you only if it is proven that Amtrak, Aqueduct Racetrack, Columbia University, The New York Botanic garden, the new york Aquarium, the Museum of Natrual history, the Port Authority, Lincoln Center, Rockafeller center, Leghman college, Hunter college and the Yankees all pay to have thier names or thier facilties names slapped on stations.

Except that those are the names of locations, not places whose naming rights were purchased. The name of the location was the commodity, so the name of the station should be similarly sold. If you buy the naming rights to a facility and expect the adjacent stations to be similarly named then it is only right that the transit system recieve some of the money changing hands.
