Posted by ChicagoPCCLCars on Sat Feb 14 15:51:44 2009 Imagine you have the task of sitting down and planning a nine hour CTA "L" Charter...I can tell you it was fun! fun! fun! This is a heads up announcement for anyone interested, there will be a nine hour "L" charter on the CTA Sunday, March 29, 2009. The charter will be the 2009 Snowflake Special sponsored by Illinois Railway Museum which will handle all ticket reservations. Tickets will be a little less than $50. Two 2200s and two 2400 work motors will be used. Charter leaves from Forest Park, goes to Harlem/ Lake, then to Midway, then to lunch in the Loop. After lunch, charter goes to Kimball, then as far south as one can go on the "L", 9900 south in the 98th ST Red line yard and end up back at Forest Park. All kinds of special photo stops, rare mileage are included along the way.Here are some views to be seen on Sunday.
