A computer can't beat the record. You need instinct. Everyone who uses a computer to try to figure out the best route are always the ones who end up taking 30+ hours, since the computer didn't realize that X line gets backed up at certain hours, or Y line is GOed out, or Z line is gonna make a battery run - stay on or get off? They also don't seem to realize that when you start in the Rockaways, it is significantly smarter to start at B116 rather than Mott, as there is one less transfer AND you only have to wait for the damn H train once (or no times, depending on whether they start the clock when they swipe, or when the first train leaves the station). |
