"It's only 468 factorial," he added - without a hint of sarcasm - referring to the number of subway stations in the system. The number of worthwhile solutions is considerably less than 468! since stations in a row effectively count as one in the combinatorics (and I’m sure that five minutes would show other similar optimizations). And 468! isn’t trillions: 450! is approximately 2E1000. |
