I rode on them exactly twice, 19 years apart. The first time was on 9/23/67, when they still ran on the Three Stooges Division and had their original BMT number route curtains (what's a 15?). They were still clean, wore their original olive drab and had vertical door pockets. Fast forward to October 1986. I took an R-16 Moe two stops along Nassau St. Slanted door pockets, graffiti everywhere and somehow that train didn't fall apart. Even the doors worked.
