The use of 34/6 as a terminal was not for such a "short" period of time. It lasted from the opening of the 6 Av Line in 1940 until November of 1967 when Chrystie opened, a period of 27 years. I'm referring only to is use as a terminal for rush hour BBs and late PM, midnight and weekend Fs. It was also used as a terminal for all 6 Av services in late 1962 when blasting for the construction of the express tunnels compromised the existing subway infrastructure. It has also, of course, been used as a terminal during periods ahen the 6 Av side of the Manny B is closed. |
