Acceleration rates that spank NYCTA, LIRR/MNRR, and PATCOPATCO and BART both accelerate at 3mph/s. OTOH, it's headways reek by subway standards, but would spank any commuter rail agency in North America... All the more reason to build Riverline-like S-bahns here. Spend the money on the expensive downtown tunnel, then do the radial lines as surface routes paralleling or using some rail, pipeline, power, or interstate ROW. Don't blow 200 million a mile on extensions into the boonies. |
