Welllll ... FWIW, if you open up and nobody's on the platform and nobody gets off, you can close up pretty quickly. But you end up running "hot" only to be held for time somewhere along the way. As to the "accuracy" of BVE though, I wouldn't schedule a real railroad based on how BVE runs, particularly if you can't charge each station and stop on a dime with just one release. BRAKING is where you lose your time (aside from door holders) in the real world. And though the subway files and trains are fairly close, even my arnine isn't all that accurate ... BVE has limitations which authors try their best to work around.
