Retired cars years ago actually met the torch and were cut up. Naporano was one company that I recall scrapping many a beloved subway car type. Nowadays with asbestos being an issue, and many forms of sea life being endangered, retired subway cars now serve as artificial reefs which is more environmentally friendly. K-car has his reservations because he foams over the older car types. Well, who doesn't? But we have our limits and use common sense. Guys like Train Dude, randyo and Westcode44 to name a few are good reference posters because they have, and still work with the equipment to a certain degree. Oh by the way, Welcome To SubChat.Lord Vader |
