Isn't there some mountain-range blocking off the Central Valley at one end? Presumably they're planning some massive tunnel or something. There would have to be a tunnel north of Santa Clarita. The current rail line that passes through the mountains is only a single track, which makes most Amtrak service through the mountains impossible due to the high number of freight trains using the corridor. |
