It would have allowed for the Blue Line to run more extensively through East Boston, Chelsea, Revere and possibly Everett. But I recall seeing a proposal for a Blue Line branch to Chelsea. I forget exactly where and when I saw it, but it was fairly recent (2003ish), so it would have been heavy rail. It would have branched off of the main line at Wood Island. |
