Thanks for your informative post.I've heard a guarantee from MTA ED Elliott Sander that MNR will run to NYP, but beyond a gimmick, I don't put much stock in that. So I would agree with cost-benefit analysis done in the M8 case; the third rail solution is fairly elegant, anyway. It will be interesting to follow the NJT DP locomotive project, although I believe that electrification should have been at the forefront of the expansion agenda. |
