If anything, this proposal seems to confirm that diesel runs are going to be especially targeted for elimination, since NJT is conceding the higher cost of operations - while declining to pursue any electrification! - by stating that they will run the DP locomotives in electric mode whenever there is wire to pull juice from to save money on operations. |
