I don't understand the logic of wasting money on a project doomed to failure. Politically it's bad. They should be concentrating on making promises they can actually deliver on. The most logical thing from an engineering and financial standpoint it so extend electrification into current diesel-only areas. But I suppose the concept of a dual mode can be equally sold to everyone served only by diesels, not just those areas where ridership justifies the expense of installing the wire(s). |
