Well, I remember actually seeing and photographing R-6 #1144, when it was at United House Wrecking in Stamford, in the early 1980's, thus still on the property. Inside the long-detrucked car were a lot of stuff (including certain bathroom fixtures) that was used almost like a shed.

There was even a large pair of ironcast gates leaning against the car body. The funny thing about is that I actually rode #1144 when it went into service as a put-in Nostalgia Special (taking the place of the D-Types originally scheduled to run) in 1976.
