Yes, but shouldn't there be some sort of terminal supervision to check the trains as they arrive and depart? I visited the WMATA control center some years ago, and it would seem that an irregular train length should show up some way on the CRT model board. I know the track circuits there are not quite like those here on NYCT, but something should have shown up to alert the WMATA traffic controllers that something was amiss. |
