Canada and Australia have high-speed rail? That's news to me. Both countries have struggled over the years to put a high-speed train (in excess of 125 mph/200 kph) in service.The other question is: Will he follow through on this? If you recall, Bill Clinton way back in 1992 talked about wanting to implement high-speed rail across the country. But, other than the mixed success of Acela and Talgo trains in the Pacific Northwest that are capable of going 125 mph, but currently only do 79 mph, what do we have to show for it? |
