This brings up an interesting question: What car fleet (other than demo/test trains) have been in service for the shortest period of time? Most R22's, R17's and R27's and all of the GE R16's were scrapped before reaching 30 years of service. None of the latter made it past 28 years of service, and that includes the years they were mothballed in the late 70's. |
