The BRT station on the Manhattan end was actually called Delancey Street when the line opened. According to The Tracks of New York, it was a terminal with three tracks and two island platforms. I don't know when the name was changed to Essex Street.I've been looking for a picture of this Delancey Street station for a long time but have never seen one. |
