But costs and political issues are big obstacles. If the LIRR "re-captures" the Rockaway branches it would be a better commute for Rockaway residents who of course would be paying much more for the ride into Manhattan. It would also give Brooklyn and Queens A & C riders more frequent and less crowded trains.
