Amtrak is probably the tightest agency with regard to DMs.They swap out DMs for straight diesels at albany on longer runs so that they can keep the DMs where theyre needed. Sometimes a straight diesel will go all the way to Penn, when no DMs are available(An electric will meet up with it to pull it into the station.) |
