While the invention of push-pull locomotive-hauled consists in Chicago about 50 years agoThey didn't invent push-pull electric out there, though. The diesel push-pull replaced steam ops and/or diesel ops where the locomotive had to change ends. The only transit agency that has turned towards loco-hauled coaches in lieu of MUs is NJ Transit MARC is like that as well. |
