Right...LRV/LRT systems are the wave of the future for new rapid transit here in NYC.. Lets keep it real,folks..subways are a billion dollars a mile here..[take a good look at the over priced SAS PHASE 1..and thats only two miles long..its topping out at close to 4 BILLION DOLLARS..you think they will be able to REALLY FINISH 8 MILES of MANHATTAN ONLY SUBWAY?] A LRT along the same route would've cost much less... More to the point..a Narrows tunnel will cost BILLIONS alone..so WHY NOT use the Bridges inner roadways on the lower levels for LRT's? |
