If V's have to go to Brooklyn because they're assigned to Pitkin Yard, some F's will have to turnaround at 2nd Ave, or there will be too much congestion in Brooklyn. I guess you can equate the F turnaround at 2nd to the R turnaround at Canal.

Terminating some F trains at 2nd Av does have an upshot of increasing reliability over the truncated route, especially with the big merge at 36th St in Queens. But it also has the downside of taking service frequency away from the Culver Line.

True, the G route is going to be extended to Church Av. That still leaves the ex-BMT portion of the Culver Line less served than now, right? Well, one solution might be - since some F trains already short-turn at Kings Hwy, terminate those F trains instead at 2nd Av, and extend some G trains to Kings Hwy to replace the short-turned F trains terminating at 2nd Av.

Still, I'm not a fan of the crossover at Jay St; seems too much potential for congestion. Plus, the relay operation at Euclid Av may start to resemble the conga line into Forest Hills with that frequency of trains coming in.
