Exactly:Extenstions at The Bowery, Canal, Chambers, Fulton and Broad Street can if necessary be added to Phase 3 if that helps in providing a Nassau Street line connection from the SAS (and at The Bowery and Canal Street, since only one side of the station is now used, they only have to be done on one side as opposed to two). Those extensions might have to be done anyway as part of doing such on the full J/M/Z line since with those neighborhoods expanding, those platforms may need to be extended to accomodate 10 car trains. The Water Street segment, when that is gotten to is going to take a considerable amount of time anyway, so the Nassau Street connection from the SAS would be very useful if for no other reason in that it allows for the SAS to reach lower Manhattan several years earlier. |
