MTA is by no means the worst...I can't do an exhaustive survey of government agencies, of course, but over the years I've heard more complains and dissatisfaction with management, protocols, and supervision at MTA - most especially NYCT - than any other agency from its own employees. Of course, backpedaling is slow. Even in physics! Look at the early experiments on measurement of the electron's mass for a revealing look at how even trained skeptics - scientists - apparently didn't want to deviate too much from the value given by the earliest watershed experiment. |
