I rode the Budd M-3's in Philadelphia and in summer they were rolling ovens.Even after they put in a few flip-out windows on the sides, it was still unbearable. It was still sucking in hot air. This is why everyone welcome the M-4's, and they were highly advertised as being "air-conditioned". And we don't have traction motors falling off anymore. |
