The Far Rockaway Branch is an anormality because the further you get operationally from Jamaica, the closer to the city you get. Of course that all stems from the fact that it was once a loop of sorts. It used to be faster to go towards Far Rockaway for many of the stations than going towards Valley Stream. Of course that all ended once the line was severed at Mott Ave.I wonder how they handled the operational direction when the line was through from Broad Channel to let's say Cedarhurst. Were you going east if you were going from Broad Channel to Cedarhurst or if you were going from Valley Stream to Cedarhurst? |
